Bale and Rodriguez both score twice to seal Real win
Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez each scored twice with wonder goals in Real Madrid’s game against Real Betis, with Karim Benzema adding another. The final result for Sunday’s match was a stunning 5-0 win for Real’s first home game of the season.
New Real Madrid coach Rafael Benitez should be happy with his team’s performance in their second La Liga clash this season. Sunday’s match started off well when James Rodríguez pin point pass assisted Gareth Bale who headed down into the goal in the first couple of minutes. In the 38th minute James Rodríguez scored a wonder goal from a penalty when he pinged the ball off the post. After the break, Karim Benzema who was assisted by Bale headed home from close range after a piece of brilliant team play. A couple of minutes later, a sublime overhead kick from Rodríguez found the back of the net. Near the end of the game, Bale got his second when he slotted a 30 yard bullet shot into the goal to end the game at 5-0. This match will go down in history as one of the most entertaining games that Real Madrid has ever played.

The biggest surprise in the game was the lack of any goals from Cristiano Ronaldo who so far has failed to score this season. Last week Ronaldo lost out to Messi for the Uefa Best Player in Europe award, so he needs to turn things around for himself this season if he wants to outdo his rival this time around. Real Madrid however played well as a team and hopefully this is a taste of things to come.
