While Brazilian legend Ronaldo hasn’t played professionally for 4 years, he may return to professional football with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in the North American Soccer League.

The last time the Brazilian played professionally was back in 2011. In his peak, he played for teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Inter Milan. He also represented his country Brazil and remains the second highest goalscorer for his national team. He even helped Brazil win a World Cup and was voted the best player in the world three times, putting him in an elite group of footballers along with Zidane, Messi, and Christiano Ronaldo.

His football skills were once good enough for many to tout him as the next Pele, but injuries impeded that hope. Nevertheless, he was still one of the greatest players to have graced the game. Four years on and a rested Ronaldo could once again give the world a glimpse of this football legend. Who knows, he could perhaps play in Europe one day, after all, the 39 year old was popularly dubbed “the phenomenon”.
