Cristiano Ronaldo scores 500th career goal
Cristiano has hit a few new milestone. He scored his 500th career goal for club and country and added a second goal to draw level with Real Madrid legend Raul as Real’s top scorer. He is one goal shy of being the greatest goal scorer in all competitions for his club.
Real Madrid Champions League Group A match saw the Blancos beat Malmo 2-0 on Thursday at Swedbank Stadion. Both goals were scored by Ronaldo and the result sees Real Madrid maintain their 100% start in the Champions League.
The Portuguese international scored when he connected with a pass from Isco and struck the ball past the keeper. He added an easy second late in the game which saw him draw level with Raul’s club total of 323 goals. While Ronaldo and Raul currently are the top scorers for Real, Ronaldo reached this milestone in 433 fewer games. He has also equaled Raul’s 66 Champions League goals for Real Madrid, but is the competition’s top scorer with 82 goals in all clubs which is five more than Lionel Messi.
