Ibrahimovic & Cavani score twice as PSG win French League Cup

Both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani get a double to give Paris St-Germain a comfortable 4-0 win over Bastia to win their fifth French League Cup. The Coupe de la Ligue win sees them in the hunt for a historic quadruple.

Ibrahimovic struck first with a direct penalty after Bastia’s captain ‘Squillaci’ was red carded Down to 10 men, Zlatan took full advantage and added another goal in the first half. In the second half, Lavezzi  was substituted for Cavani who promptly added two goals to seal the game at 4-0.

PSG next meet FC Barcelona in Paris for Wednesday’s quarter-finals of the Champions League. However, Ibrahimovic who was red carded in their last Champions League game against Chelsea meaning he cannot play and he is also banned for the next four league games due to insulting both the referee and France after PSG’s defeat at Bordeaux last week.
