Lewandowski’s phenomenal goal-scoring run continues
A hat trick from Robert Lewandowski on Wednesday means he has scored ten goals in his last three matches. The Bundesliga’s top scorer famously netted five goals in nine against Wolfsburg last Tuesday, then scored another two in Saturday’s game against Mainz. He now adds a hat-trick to his incredible goals scoring tally.
Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga home match on Wedensday against Dinamo Zagreb ended in a 5-0 thumping. The rout was thanks in part to the incredible goal scoring form of Robert Lewandowski who netted a hat-trick with two other goals coming from team mates Mario Goetze and Douglas Costa. The victory has secured Bayern’s top spot in Champions League Group F and it also ended Dinamo’s 45-match unbeaten run.
Guardiola said of the game:
“That was a good team performance over the whole 90 minutes.”
“Six points means we’re on the right path. Tomorrow we’re off to Oktoberfest, after that we’ll have time to think about Dortmund.”
Lewandowski’s effort sees him as a Golden Shoe contender and it has suddenly become an exciting prospect to see how well he will do in his next game against Dortmund on the 5th of October. Even non Budesliga football fans are wanting to know how he is playing as he is currently in the same goal scoring league as Ronaldo and Messi. In fact neither Ronaldo or Messi have ever scored ten goals in three consecutive professional games.
