Lewandowski scores winner in Poland vs Ireland
Robert Lewandowski scored the winning goal to put his country Poland into qualification for Euro 2016. He also denied Ireland automatic qualification who are now forced into the play-offs.
Krychowiak opened the scoring for Poland with a stunning 20-yard strike, but Ireland soon leveled with penalty on the spot, but the replay showed the infringement took place just outside the box. Never mind it was now 1-1 and anyone’s game to win. Step up Lewandowski who in the 42nd minute scored an absolute cracker of a header that traveled a whopping 83 km/h into the back of the net. Robert has been absolutely instrumental in putting his country into Euro 2016 and his form of late has been nothing short of stunning.
The Polish striker has now scored 15 goals in his last six matches for both club and country. Many fans now expect him to score in every game and it will be interesting to see how he goes in his next game on the 18th when he plays against Werder in a Bundesliga match.
