Messi brace helps Barcelona to a 5-1 win
It took 15 years to see Barcelona score against newly promoted Leganes. With a sell out crowd at the Butarque stadium on Saturday, Barcelona played their preferred forward line of Messi, Suarez, and Neymar who helped each other to score in traditional fashion.
A shock 2-1 defeat at the hands of Alaves last week in La Liga prompted Barca coach Luis Enrique to play MSN to help ensure victory in their latest league match. As usual, MSN delivered the goods and assisted each other to score three easy tap ins during the first half. Ten minutes into the second half Messi added a fourth after Neymar was intentionally fouled in front of the goal by by Unai Bustinza who was promptly red carded. Rafinha rounded off a comfortable Barca victory with a stunning curled shot. A free-kick for Leganes saw Gabriel Appelt score to end the match with a 5-1 defeat for the home team.
