MSN set new goal scoring record
Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Neymar set a new goal scoring record for an attacking trio with a whopping 131 goals in all competitions this season .
In their 2015/16 campaign, MSN scored nine more goals than the previous record which was also held by them for their 122 goals they netted in 2014/15.
Both seasons high goal tallies are surprising considering that in both seasons, at least one of the MSN members were absent for two months or more. In 2014/15 season Suarez was ineligible to play due to his FIFA ban, and this season Messi was out for two months due to injury.
This season, Suarez scored 59 goals, Messi got 41 goals, with Neymar om 31. It works out that MSN scored 131 of Barcelona’s 177 goals.
In the 2014/15 season Messi was the top scorer with 58 goals, while Neymar got 39, with Suarez on 25.
The previous all-time record came in the 2011/12 season when Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Gonzalo Higuain netted 118 times.
In the 2008/09 season, Barcelona got 100 goals through the then attacking line of Messi, Samuel Eto’o, and Thierry Henry.
