Robert Lewandowski keeps on scoring for Bayern
Robert Lewandowski amazing scoring run continues with a brace for Bayern Munich in their 5-1 drubbing of Dortmund on Sunday. Thomas Müller also got a double and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang added one more.
In Sunday’s Bundesliga clash at Allianz Arena in Munich, Bayern beat second place Borussia Dortmund 5-1 and now sit seven points ahead of their rivals on 24 points.
Thomas Muller netted twice in the first half followed by a goal for Dortmund by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to end the half one goal ahead for Bayern. After the break, Lewandowski struck from close range in the first minute and struck again 12 minutes later. Mario Götze then put the icing on the cake when he added another goal in the 65th minute.
Lewandowski’s double now sees him sitting on 12 goals in 4 consecutive games. That is the equivalent of a hat-trick in each match. However, his goal compilation started with 5 goals in 9 minutes in the first game, followed by a double in the second, followed by a hat-trick in the third, and now another double today. This is one of the best goal scoring records in league football history and he may not be done yet.
His goal scoring has been so consistent lately that many expect him to score big in every game now. If he continues his amazing goal scoring run, then he could be a contender for the 2016 European Golden Shoe award. Who knows, he could even be the player to break the Ronaldo Messi duopoly in awards like the Golden Shoe or Ballon d’Or.
