Ryan Giggs goal against Arsenal
Manchester United v Arsenal in 1999 saw one of the greatest goals ever scored. United were down to 10 men and the score was locked at 1-1 in extra time. It looked like it was going to go to penalties with the winner going on to play in the FA Cup final.
But the impossible happened. Giggs picked up possession after Patrick Vieira lost the ball, and he dribbled the ball from his own half through the Arsenal’s back line and struck with his left foot beyond teh keepers reach. He took off his shirt as he ran to celebrate not only a wonder goal, but a winning goal that helped United later win the FA Cup. It was United’s first top-division title win in 26 years. This marked the beginning of the resurgence of United under Sir Alex Ferguson.
