Zlatan Ibrahimovic scores a double in PSG rout
Prolific goal scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a brace to help PSG beat Toulouse 5-0. PSG are now 11 points clear at the top of the French table.
The Swedish international played a huge part in his clubs win on Sunday at Parc des Princes stadium in Paris. He has now scored consecutively in six matches. While Paris Saint-Germain F.C. dominate the French league, their previous game saw them lose 1-0 to Real Madrid in a Champions League match. However, PSG were clearly the better team on the day and enjoyed more possession.
While PSG look very strong this year, and with the addition of Angel Di Maria who is also getting back to the form he had when he played for Real Madrid, the team looks like a formidable European force with a real chance of winning the Champions League this year. There have also been a number of recent rumors about the possibility of Cristiano Ronaldo moving to the French club, a move predicted by Thiago Silva and with speculation increasing when Ronaldo whispered into the ear of Blanc on the touchline during the Madrid PSG game last week. A French newspaper reported recently that Ronaldo is considering his options and Manchester United and one of the MLS clubs have offers.
In Sunday’s match, Di Maria opened the scoring with a stunning long range free-kick. Ibrahimovic then headed in at close range. After the break, Lucas Moura headed in and ten minutes later, Ibrahimovic struck a right footed shot. Ezequiel Lavezzi also struck a right-footed shot to seal the win.
